Activity #8: Presentation (60 min)

Organize a school wide assembly and present to your community about recycling and sustainability.

Present all the ideas you have learned from the multiple sources you gathered in an engaging presentation for your community. Assign roles to each child. Practice your presentation.

Model how to recycle different materials.

• Do the caps have to be on or off?
• Do the containers need to be rinsed or not?
• Include items that cannot be recycled.
• Invite volunteers from the audience to come up and try sorting the items.

Distribute your brochure, recycling bins, and recycling guideline chart to your community. After a few days, sort recycling from different classrooms. Re-educate your community if items in the recycle bin are not what is accepted.
